Indian passport for an adult is valid for 10 years and while it seems like it’s easy to renew it.
Minor passport (Indian) is usually valid for 5 years. Renewing it requires a completely different process and set of documents.
New Born Passport requires you to register the birth of your child within 1 year and then apply for Indian Passport.
A police report is required to lodge a new application for passport. A full validity passport will be issued to bonafide applicants.

Changes in last names, spouse’s name, and change in address – on an Indian passport will require you to re-issue your passport with new details.
